Aluminium large components pre-machining services

Constellium’s advanced machining operations can lead to significant savings in buy-to-fly metal costs.

Reducing the cost of buy-to-fly

Constellium pre-machining services

Constellium’s pre-machining services for large components offer considerable advantages for customers, especially those in the aerospace industry.

During the typical manufacturing process, from plate to finished part, about 90% of the metal is removed as scrap, either as large pieces or chips. This scrap is automatically recycled in our plants without loss of properties.

Our machining operations reduce customer costs and optimize sourcing by minimizing the buy-to-fly ratio of aluminium products. Receiving pre-machined components also simplifies our customers' manufacturing operations.
