Thermal breaks

Aluminium thermal breaks

Constellium’s dedicated plants in Germany and France specialize in producing and assembling thermal breaks for major European window and door manufacturers.

Energy-efficient aluminium windows and doors

Thermal breaks

Metal windows, doors and curtain wall framings often use a thermal separator between the inner and outer frames. The separator is assembled with extruded aluminium profiles, becoming what is commonly known as a thermal break.

The thermal break acts as an insulator and prevents energy loss from the heated inside of the building to the cold outside.

Thermal breaks have become state of the art for green and energy efficient architecture, significantly reducing energy consumption in buildings.

We specialize in producing aluminium window and door profiles for major European producers according to their specific designs and needs.

Drawing on decades of experience in extrusion, we produce thermal breaks that offer significant benefits to customers.

Our thermal breaks reach frame material group one standards, the highest possible energy saving rating for windows, doors and facades.
Our automated assembly lines for thermal breaks ensure constant industrial quality with optimal mechanical properties.
Constellium parts are of high quality and fit, as all manufacturing steps - from extrusion to assembly - are undertaken at the same Constellium plant. Additional surface treatments (anodizing or lacquering) are either provided in-house or with long established local partners.
Constellium thermal breaks are delivered with an impeccable surface quality - ready for any final surface treatment desired by the customer.
Customized solutions are available according to customers’ specific needs, including a variety of highly specialized solutions, for example, for increased fire resistance.

With Constellium’s thermal break solutions there are no limits for creativity in design and architecture.

Thermal breaks play an important role in reducing a building’s heat loss through windows, thereby optimizing energy consumption.
