Precision aluminium plates
Many industrial machinery manufacturers choose aluminium because it is as strong as steel, easy to machine, and its low density offers particular advantages in many applications.
Thanks to its lower weight, an aluminium roller table or any other component rotating at a high speed is far less likely to generate deformities than its steel equivalent. In moving machine parts, aluminium’s low density allows for significant design simplification. When being made of aluminium, for instance the arm of an industrial robot will work quicker, with greater precision, and requiring less energy to perform movements.
Some manufacturers of wind turbine blades have begun to use aluminium instead of steel. Lighter than steel blades, aluminium models impose less strain on bearings and supporting structures while retaining shape and strength.
Our precision plates combine mechanical strength and machinability with very tight dimensional tolerances enabling cost savings for the users through the reduction of processing steps such as rough machining.

ALPLAN® is a hot-rolled plate that is milled flat and parallel on both faces. It is an excellent option for applications that require close tolerance and strength such as high-precision structures, guide systems and sizing jigs.
UNIDAL® is a hot-rolled plate made with a heat-treatable alloy that incorporates good shape stability, excellent surface finish, and the lightest dimensional tolerances. Thanks to these outstanding properties, non-conformities are virtually eliminated in the machining process. UNIDAL® is the cost-effective solution for applications requiring the highest degrees of strength and precision.
ALCA® 5 is a cast plate made with an AA5083 alloy. Offering excellent machinability for short chips, these cast plates are much better suited to anodizing treatments than plates in 2xxx and 7xxx alloys. Because of its excellent machinability, ALCA® 5 is the cost-effective solution for applications requiring low strength levels and high shape stability during and after machining.
FORTAL®, our proprietary alloy, is used for tooling applications. It offers easy machining, dimensional stability and corrosion resistance. Additionally, it presents an ideal solution for machine tables and other parts requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio. FORTAL® is suitable for tooling base plates for die cutting, cutting and stamping of tool parts, mobile machining assemblies for CNC machines, mechanical parts requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio (such as robotic parts and special machinery), and machine tables.
