Constellium participates in InnoTrans 2012 from September 18 to 21

14 September 2012

During four days in Berlin, the railway stakeholders will be meeting at the ninth and largest international trade fair for transport technology: InnoTrans 2012. The future of mobility will be the main theme presented and discussed at InnoTrans, which is held from September 18 to 21. The exhibition will occupy the 26 halls as well as the rail tracks and outdoor display areas.

About InnoTrans 2012

More than 2,500 exhibitors from 49 countries will be presenting their latest railway innovations, providing a wide overview of the market, its main products and services. Every two years, InnoTrans is attracting more than 100,000 visitors from all over the world.

The Rail&Bus extrusions activities, part of Constellium’s Extrusions and Automotive Structures business unit, will be presenting its broad portfolio of light weight materials and sustainable engineering solutions dedicated to the railway and bus industry.

Our booth, located in hall 8.2, stand 141, showcases innovative light weight solutions based on the combination of large aluminium extrusions, components and composite structures with a high technological content.

About Constellium’s participation

By sharing its technical knowledge and long standing technical experiences, Constellium supports its customers in addressing their business challenges in a cost-efficient and innovative way. Additionally, Constellium is continuously focusing on optimised alloys, die design, process and extrusion technologies to further reduce weight for the next generation of supplies to the global railway markets.

Constellium’s highlights at the fair include:

  •
Hybrid design Monorail cross section: a cross section of a monorail produced for the cities of Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur and Sao Paolo. This technologically leading hybrid design demonstrates the weight saving benefits from the combination of large structural aluminium extrusions and composite panels as main structural elements.
  •
Structural and non-structural components: Constellium’s technological leadership is also of evidence for structural components. It supplies complete welded, bent and machined sub-assemblies such as structural pillars, floors, roofs, side walls as well as interior floors for all types of rail vehicles.
  •
Coextruded Conductor Rails supply electrical power from substations to train vehicles. Based on its long standing experience with aluminum as well as its expertise with processing, Constellium developed a coextruded aluminium/stainless steel power rail which is world wide a unique technology for this type of application and brings increased customer benefits.
