Context:

Implement the operating practices and process for new products developed for Constellium Plant.  Optimize existing process and practices to improve product, process efficiency, and product recovery.  Maintain all the appropriate documentation and formal reports to ensure sustainable growth in new and existing markets.  Lead area metallurgists to ensure trans-departmental alignment in technical approach, methodology, and results.  Coordinate with external laboratories as needed to support process development and support R&D efforts.  Lead and facilitate process improvement projects through Continuous Improvements, Product Development, Quality Systems, etc.  Implement process capability studies and improvement through such tools as FMEA, Cpk, SPC, etc.

Primary Purpose:

  • Manage process development for new products
  • Develop best practices for existing products to improve process capability
  • Lead and facilitate technical improvement projects
  • Ensure Vertical alignment of projects with
    1.  Market growth strategy for development projects
    2.  Plant KPI’s for process improvement projects

Key Accountabilities:

  • Process development for new products.
  • Ensure full product definition based on customer requirements and with acceptable Cpk, recovery and relevant documentation (Practices, FMEA etc.) created/updated
  • Develop best practices for existing products to improve process capability
  • Lead and facilitate technical improvement projects to improve productivity, recovery, process & product capability and reduce cost
  • Ensure Vertical alignment of projects with
    1.  Market growth strategy for development projects
    2.  Plant KPI’s for process improvement projects
  • Train, coach and mentor technical talent for the plant
  • Maintain and improve plant process documentation system
  • Manage Sales availability
  • Support area technical teams in reducing quality losses
  • Support area technical teams in claim management
  • Support the laboratory in development activities

Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Manufacturing (Less experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
  • Capable of leading multi-functional teams
  • Well-developed analytical & statistical skills
  • Experience with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies
  • Manufacturing experience with Automotive or Aerospace products
