Job Summary: The Payroll Administrator supports the human resources department through the processing and administration of the payroll and HRIS System. This position assures compliance with the organization's policies and practices and local, state, federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration & Payroll Reconciliation: Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system.
- Pay Calculations & Payroll Tax Compliance: Reviews the computation of pay and ensures the company payroll policies are in accordance with the government regulations. Ensure accurate calculation of wages and company deductions.
- Inquiry Research/Response: Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks.
- Ensures payroll records are updated and reports on any matters of interest.
- Administer/maintain HRIS system for Constellium hourly, salary, and maintenance employees.
- Ensures that pay is in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement for hourly employees and company policy for salary and maintenance employees
- Responsible for tracking hours worked for probationary employees and tracking years of service for Entry Level Tier Employees
- Garnishments and Levies: Process income withholding orders. Respond to issuing agency and report terminations of employment.
- Paid time off tracking, Timekeeping/Time Sheets, & Timesheet Auditing: Train supervisors on time and attendance approval procedures and compensation policies as needed. Maintain the PTO systems for the company.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects all payroll operations by keeping information confidential at all times and security of records and information
- Advises employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs.
- Complies with internal control procedure and Sarbanes Oxley procedures for Pension and Payroll. Responsible for maintain Sarbanes-Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation for areas of responsibilities.
- Responsible for maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley testing documentation for areas of responsibilities.
- Assists with other HR projects or assignments as needed. Execute assigned projects including data collection, testing, analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or other related field preferred.
- 0 to 2 years’ experience in payroll or other HR related field
- Work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task use sound judgment, and prioritize as necessary.
- Requires strong and project management skills. Computer analytical skills proficiency and technical aptitude with a mastery of required Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential. Preferred knowledge of ADP software.
- Knowledge and understanding of all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Ability to work in a team, deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational and self-management skills are essential to the success of this position along with proven communication capabilities in both group and individual settings
- Demonstrated customer service skills, ability to relate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization.

With its widest strip mill in the USA and a world-class recycling center, the site represents one of the largest sites within Constellium and is a world-class can recycling center, with the capacity to recycle nearly 20 billion cans per year. Muscle Shoals’ main product is aluminum can sheet for the packaging industry, particularly for beverage containers. It manufactures sheet used in all three components of an aluminum can, namely body stock, coated end stock and tab stock. Additionally, Muscle Shoals’ supplies Auto Body Sheet substrate to Constellium’s Bowling Green, Kentucky, site.
