Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure products and services are of the highest quality through testing and statistical analysis. This position is responsible for helping in the process of creating new and improved products/services by checking for efficiency and quality. The position is located in Van Buren, Michigan manufacturing site, which is part of our Automotive Structures & Industry business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all activities to achieve and maintain management system and standards (i.e. TS16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Conducts training to Quality or Process Engineering personnel in creating PFMEA, control plan and check sheets in PLEX.
- Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Review quality production data for compliance to production quality
- Ensure quality support to production
- Reduce internal and external quality incidents through capability studies and other activities to improve capability of production lines
- Track trends and performance in real time to avert part issues prior to occurrence
- Assist in investigations for quality issues
- Serve as company representative with customer
- Develops SOPs within the scope of work, compiles and uploads supplemental documents for traceability and record retention
- Participate in relevant 8D problem solving and continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred (strong relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree with High School Diploma or GED)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints in metric and US standard
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures
- Strong ability to work in teams as lead or participant
- Experience working for automotive tier 1 or 2 supplier preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
