Job Summary

Constellium is creating an interim position of Muscle Shoals Finance Director to prepare for the succession of the CFO position within one year. In coordination with the current CFO, the successful candidate manages the financial activities of the Constellium Muscle Shoals site, ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place, and plays an active role in site governance and performance improvement.

The successful candidate manages the following areas within the site:

1) accounting

2) reporting to the Group and BU

3) internal control

4) financial planning (quarterly and annual forecasts, budget, long-term plan)

5) cash management

6) tax

7) insurance

The successful candidate supports the Muscle Shoals CFO, the plant manager and the management team in steering and optimizing financial performance, and in providing a true and fair view of the company's situation.


Responsibilities

  • Organizes activities within his/her scope, defines objectives, implements tools, resources and systems to provide financial and operational information to the organization's management (plant, BU and Group), and formulates actionable recommendations for site strategy and operations,
  • Implements the site's medium/long-term strategy,
  • Manages the accounting department: guarantees the reliability of the accounts, the preparation of financial statements, and their compliance with accounting procedures and standards (US GAAP and IFRS),
  • Coordinates financing activities with the Group treasury team: monitors site liquidity, evaluates future cash flows, implements credit and financing policies defined by the Group,
  • Leads FP&A: implements financial models and analysis tools, monitors site activity performance, carries out economic analyses (investment, product profitability, make or buy, etc.),
  • Oversees long-term budget planning and cost management in line with the organization's strategic plan,
  • Designs and drafts financial communications for the BU and for the Group, and drafts management documents for the legal entity,
  • Implements internal control procedures and ensures their effectiveness and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation,
  • Implements financial risk management tools (metal price, currency risk, customer credit) in line with Treasury procedures, and monitors their performance,
  • Supervises tax-related work for the legal entity and participates in tax consolidation work with Group teams,
  • Manages investment requests (compliance with internal approval rules, alignment with Group objectives, ROI calculations, expenditure tracking, commissioning),
  • Ensures the real value of assets,
  • Checks the main legal contracts and ensures that accounting treatment complies with the company's current standards, 
  • Ensures that the company complies with current regulatory requirements,
  • Maintains relations with external and internal auditors, and reviews their findings and recommendations,
  • In coordination with the plant CFO, supervises and leads a diverse team of professionals, and organizes their activities,
  • Leads company improvement or transformation projects (information systems, etc.).

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance required, other business degree will be considered, CPA preferred
  • At least 12 years Finance and Accounting required, and 6-8 years supervisory experience
  • Business-specific skills:
  • Sound knowledge of finance, US-GAAP and IFRS accounting standards, US tax, business and labor law, economics, mathematics
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, auditing and FP&A
  • Good knowledge of decision-making and data management tools
  • Cross-disciplinary skills:
  • Computer skills (Excel, SAP, etc.): advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Experience in a large plant in an international context is a plus
  • Must possess superior analytical skills and impeccable judgment, and have experience in translating a strategic vision into an operational model
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and information
  • Management skills in leadership, delegation and supervision, organization and planning, as well as interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Experience and adaptability to work in a highly competitive international environment
  • Must have sufficient written and oral communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization (site, BU, Group) and with third parties (suppliers, customers, bankers, tax inspectors, auditors)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to lead and supervise complex improvement or transformation projects.

 

About Constellium: Constellium Muscle Shoals is an aluminum manufacturing plant based in Alabama with over 1,200 employees. With its widest strip mill in the USA and a world-class recycling center, the site represents one of the largest sites within Constellium and is a world-class can recycling center, with the capacity to recycle nearly 20 billion cans per year. Muscle Shoals’ main product is aluminum can sheet for the packaging industry, particularly for beverage containers. It manufactures sheet used in all three components of an aluminum can, namely body stock, coated end stock and tab stock. Additionally, Muscle Shoals’ supplies Auto Body Sheet substrate to Constellium’s Bowling Green, Kentucky, site.
