Constellium is a global sector leader that develops innovative, value-added aluminum products for a broad scope of markets and applications, focusing in particular on aerospace, automotive and packaging.

 

Primary Purpose:

  • Provide design oversight and manage designer services for capital and expense jobs to improve worker safety, plant productivity, and equipment reliability, capability, and throughput.
  • Management and maintenance of the engineering drawing system, ensuring that new and revised drawings are properly indexed
  • Assist to reduce maintenance downtime & costs
  • Facilitate engineering for new equipment and equipment modifications through design support
  • Provide field assistance for development and installation of engineering projects
  • Minimize project installation costs through design clarifications.
  • Maintain efficient and up-to-date CAD skills, recommending new software & changes when necessary, including 2D, 3D, and automatic drawing generation methods
  • Ensure efficiency in engineering drawing development by the design team

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leadership Skills

  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at every level of the organizaiton is critical in both written and oral formats.  Particular emphasis is placed on communication with maintenance crafts
  • Demonstrate the ability to function in a cross-functional, team oriented environment as a leader or team member
  • Ability to manage and supervise craft employees and contractors

 

Technical Skills 

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field,
  • 5 Years’ Experience in Field
  • Proficient in Mechanical Design and Drafting methods, symbols, and standards
  • Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) 2D required, 3D preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Communication and Organizational Skills

Key Accounabilities:

 

        • Ensuring internal and external drawings comply with applicable CAD standards.
        • Maintain updated Constellium CAD standards
        • Leadership of engineering design team including time, task, and training management.
        • Maintenance of Engineering Drawing System
        • Misc. design and field support as directed by engineering manager.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Complexity:

 

 

The individual must be able to work with all levels of plant personnel, have the ability to make decisions independently or with consistence, and accept responsibility. Must work to achieve safe and cost effective solutions to all problems.

 

The individual will report to the Central Engineering Manager, but will need to coordinate with internal and external project managers, engineers, and designers.  Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Responsible for Recommending Cost Effective Improvements
