Primary Purpose:

  • Manage process development for new products
  • Develop best practices for existing products to improve process capability
  • Lead and facilitate technical improvement projects
  • Ensure Vertical alignment of projects with
    1.  Market growth strategy for development projects
    2.  Plant KPI’s for process improvement projects

 

Key Accountabilities:
 

  • Process development for new products.
  • Ensure full product definition based on customer requirements and with acceptable Cpk, recovery and relevant documentation (Practices, FMEA etc.) created/updated
  • Develop best practices for existing products to improve process capability
  • Lead and facilitate technical improvement projects to improve productivity, recovery, process & product capability and reduce cost
  • Ensure Vertical alignment of projects with
    1.  Market growth strategy for development projects
    2.  Plant KPI’s for process improvement projects
  • Train, coach and mentor technical talent for the plant
  • Maintain and improve plant process documentation system
  • Manage Sales availability
  • Support area technical teams in reducing quality losses
  • Support area technical teams in claim management
  • Support the laboratory in development activities

 

Leadership Competencies and Technical Skills Requirement 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Manufacturing (Less experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
  • Capable of leading multi-functional teams
  • Well-developed analytical & statistical skills
  • Experience with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies
  • Manufacturing experience with Automotive or Aerospace products
