Job Summary:
While supporting the Global Aerospace strategy and plan execution, the position will be responsible for managing several strategic OEM, tier and distribution aerospace customers in North America.
The Regional Sales Manager, Aerospace is a key member of the Sales Organization and serves as Constellium’s representative to strategic aerospace customers. This role requires excellent communication skills to be effective. The incumbent must be highly effective working at all levels within a customer’s organization, including procurement, production, technology and senior management. In turn the incumbent must work well internally with all departments and management levels of the Constellium organization in order to effectively service the customer. This includes Inside Sales, Marketing, Technology, Quality, Production, Finance, Supply Chain and others.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain working relationships with key representatives of existing customers and new opportunities
- Strong working knowledge of customers’ operations and markets
- Responsibility and accountability to successfully execute mandate and supply agreement
- Accountable for preparing and leading internal and external negotiations on long-term agreements to align with BU goals.
- Responsibility and accountability for Monthly forecast and Annual Plan. Periodic participation in Monthly S&OP calls.
- Collaboration with Customer Application Engineers to introduce new products with existing and prospective customers.
- Regular cadence with customer meetings – with predetermined purpose, agenda and next steps
- Develop in-depth understanding of competitors’ product mix and capabilities
- Collaborate with Director of Sales to develop and implement NA Aero segment strategy to increase and sustain sales and profitability
- Ability to logically approach and resolve complex commercial issues with and without precedent as a collaborative effort between departments (parties to include customer, sales & marketing group, production, financial, legal, technical, and other Constellium locations).
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with a minimum of 15 years’ commercial experience in wrought aluminum products, required
- MBA strongly preferred
- Position requires travel up to 50% of the time
- Exceptional critical thinking skills, required
- Ability to quickly learn the business, products and applications Constellium offers
- Strong collaboration and negotiation skills with customers and internal resources
- Effective communication skills (verbal & written) in both formal (presentations) and informal formats and at least moderate capability with standard business software including Excel, Word, SAP, Salesforce and BI
- Demonstrated success negotiating significant (revenue and volume) long term agreements
