What do you like most about working for Constellium?
At Constellium, you can really make a difference and see the tangible outcomes of the changes you are driving. Although, we are a multinational company, it remains at a size where it’s easy to reach all of Constellium’s internal stakeholders. Also, the company’s willingness to place responsibilities and decision-making as close to operations as possible allows our teams to quickly develop the right responses for our customers. It is really energizing.
What inspires you about working in General Management?
We have very good people at Constellium, very strong technically and willing to do things right. Driving important changes or developing new business can be a pleasure when people are aligned and working as a team. Our job as leaders also means helping to grow those people who will take on challenges and help drive our success even further.
What skills or past experiences do you think helped you become who you are at Constellium?
I held several general management positions in all our businesses, and in five different countries. I worked really hard to learn about each particular technology, as well as business drivers and performance levers. I have to thank all the people who invested their time in me. During these assignments we faced several challenges, such as difficult equipment ramp-ups, customer crisis, or market downturns. But together as a team we became stronger and learned a lot. In the end, experience is the key to making a difference. It helps you take the right risks and get the most sustainable benefits.
