Digitalizing Our Leadership Safety Tours

The Leadership Safety Tour (LST) is a well-known process in our plants, with some sites conducting 500 per month. However, it generates a lot of paper—up to 70,000 pages annually at Muscle Shoals alone. In 2018, as part of the Digital@Constellium initiative, we decided to create a new app that would consume less paper and enable better data processing. The app uses a commercial mobile application called EHS Insight that runs on smartphones, tablets, and computers. It allows us to centralize LST information and corrective actions onto a single platform. Everything can be done onsite simultaneously, corrective actions are easily tracked, the app is always up to date, and a live dashboard makes it easy to see if targets are met.
