Closing the Loop: Why Can Recycling Matters in the U.S. featuring Ball Corporation and CMI

Aluminum cans are among the most recycled products globally, yet significant volumes are still lost every year in the U.S. Closing this gap represents a major opportunity to reduce emissions, preserve valuable material, and strengthen circularity.

In this special edition of the Aluminum Expert Series, Constellium joins forces with Ball Corporation and the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) to explore the challenges and opportunities of can recycling. By combining perspectives from across the value chain, this discussion highlights the importance of used beverage cans as a critical resource and outlines practical solutions—from policy and infrastructure to consumer engagement.

Through collaboration and shared advocacy, we aim to amplify these important messages, reach broader audiences, and contribute to informed decision-making that helps move the industry toward a more circular future.
