To help end users evaluate the advantages in using Alumold® 500, Constellium’s most performing alloy for making molds, we released a simple and powerful tool that will enable you to discover those advantages.

The Calculator is tailored to end users.

Tool makers can easily simulate the benefits of using Alumold500 over steel or pre-hardened steel.

Similarly, TierX are invited to use available CAE software to appreciate the reduced cycle-time thanks to Alumold500. The Calculator is expected to display the comparison of a program total cost and unit costs of parts made with Alumold tools vs steel tools.

This is the volume, in LITERS, of material to be removed from the raw plates.

Vf --> feed speed [mm/min]
Ap --> depth of cut [mm]
Ae --> width of cut [mm]

If the previous cells are not populated, the calculator takes machining values coming from various OEMs.

This is the percentage of the volume removed with a roughing tool, therefore in the first pass of the process.
