Primary Purpose
The Lubrication Supervisor will leadership to the team and will lead the efforts of the team in a way that will support the equipment needs of lubrication for the sustainment of the assets.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintains open communications between departments and the lubrication specialists to ensure lubrication needs are being met
- Ensures that lubricants are managed per equipment designs
- Holds team members accountable in the completion of VPMs and daily KPVs, and other routine responsibilities
- Ensures that team members maintain continuous monitoring and control reporting of coolant and lube system health
- Tracks and reports daily usage of lubrication and coolant material
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend Flash Meetings *(rotate between the departments).
- Review previous 24 hour’s shift reports, line up Lubrication Specialist’s as required, communicate daily safety message.
- Review previous day’s work notifications with Maintenance Teams.
- Perform daily management routine (rotate between departments).
- Collaborate with Maintenance to make sure proper information is captured in event log for all delays or events on shifts.
- Maintain an Action Register / Countermeasure Board, with weekly updates to current status for each outstanding item.
- Track and report daily usage for Mill Coolants, Kerosene, Lubrication and Hydraulic systems creating graphs to highlight problem areas and provide weekly/monthly usage trends.
- Assign PM’s to the Lube Specialists and follow up on completion/compliance for the team.
- Ensure weekly/monthly/quarterly routine work is executed on schedule and as planned.
- Ensure quarterly Inspection PM’s are completed in Oil House Area(s), to include ladders, extension cords, rigging, harnesses, eyewash stations.
- Review and close PM’s daily as required.
- Payroll to be verified daily to ensure team members are clocking at designated shift start/stop times and all time is accounted for.
- Post work schedules, arrange overtime and manage vacations to ensure shifts are properly covered.
- Post Job Bids as required and retain records for future reference.
- Maintain housekeeping schedule. Assign & enforce housekeeping tasks. All shifts should be included and all areas of responsibility should be presentable at all times.
- Perform audits and LST’s, to include permits being used and properly filled out. Verify compliance for GWPs, and LOTO.
- Lead Monthly Communication Meetings as required. Retain sign offs of training.
- Special Projects and Safety Audit projects – drive and assign task for completion
- Attend Reliability Strategy Meetings to support Lubrication Excellence program
- Participate in the development of quality job plans by working with planners.
- Responsible for Team development, writing and reviewing of SOP(s) and SMP(s).
- Audit Lubrication and Coolant Materials inventory, order as required to maintain adequate supplies at all times.
- Escalation Protocol – Unplanned Downtime to be enforced and followed
- Near Miss/Safety Protocol (Near Miss Incident Reporting) to be enforced and followed
- Ensure crew has required training to support all tasks within area of responsibility.
- Train/Mentor/Coach as needed
- Area specific task as assigned.
Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement
Technical Skills and Experience:
- 2 or 4 year degree in business administration/management or maintenance OR
- 7 Years’ comparable industrial maintenance supervisory experience with proven track record
- Must be willing to work a rotating work schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal or written formats
- Strong time management skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills (8D methodology is a plus)
- Knowledge of maintenance work management processes: planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive and corrective work
- Knowledge of basic maintenance processes (e.g. welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, motors, pumps, instrumentation and controls).
- Microsoft Project, Excel, Word proficiency required – HIGHLY SKILLED
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Experience required
