Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and improve the planning and coordination of the inventory, materials purchasing, managing engineering changes, ensuring we are meeting production targets and shipping/receiving functions to meet the customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Determine supply needs and ensure that supplies and materials are purchased according to specifications
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and warehousing procedures
- Supervise and train shipping/receiving and materials associates
- Oversee distribution of supplies to production
- Control inventory levels using the tools that are available and ensure availability of all materials
- Plan the preproduction/production/service requirements for the plant
- Coordinate with production leadership to ensure production requirements are met on time
- Monitor customer orders to provide guidance on staffing needs
- Review customer forecast for changes/needs
- Analyze capacity constraints and plan accordingly
- Communicate issues to the customer and develop a recovery plan with production/suppliers
- Setup S&OP meetings with management team to review customer volumes
- Manage customer delivery ratings
- Manage and communicate Engineering Changes
- Update the customer portal as required (Ford, FCA, GM, BMW
- Manage and lead customer balance out at the end of a program model yea
- Submit obsolescence claims to the customer
- Manage setting up new customers portals
- Lead plant inventory
- Lead and improve the martials portion of QMS
- Lead capacity planning
- Safety walks with the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or High School Diploma/GED with minimum of 5 years of applicable experience required
- Tier 1 Automotive Experience strongly preferred
- Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 4500, EDI, Plex, OEM customer portal, S&OP1 and IATF requirements strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detailed oriented
- Excellent problem resolution skills
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficient with MRP systems
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
