Job Summary: The Mechanical Designer/ Document Control Specialist works with a team of mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers, as well as the rest of the maintenance department to produce fabrication quality drawings for new and existing parts to support the production lines. This role will be able to read and understand mechanical & electrical drawings and specifications. Additional responsibilities for this role include being the primary gatekeeper for the document control database.
Responsibilities
- Provide drafting and design (CAD) support using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Produce equipment models and detailed drawings for manufacturing and field assembly drawings
- Assist in creating as-built drawings for projects
- Serve as a gatekeeper for the document control database
- Use and apply Constellium drafting standards and best practices
- Review redlines on drawings created by others and update source files in the document control database
- Assist in developing maintenance work instructions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Technical Certificate in Drafting or equivalent required
- 3+ Years of experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices required
- Strong organizations and documentation skills required
- Process knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required
- Process qualities such as productivity, dependability, resourcefulness, efficiency, and professionalism required
- Fluent user of AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred
- Experience in designing for manufacturing facilities preferred
- Experience in Document Control Management preferred
