Constellium highlights benefits of aluminium with Augmented Reality at the Automotive Engineering Expo in Nuremberg on June 4-5
Constellium will exhibit several of its advanced aluminium solutions at the Automotive Engineering Expo (Booth 12-418) in Nuremberg on June 4-5, 2019. Aluminium is a material of choice for automakers to achieve their goals to reduce vehicle weight, improve fuel economy, lower emissions and increase electric vehicle range.
At the Automotive Engineering Expo, visitors will be able to experience the ways Constellium is making vehicles lighter, stronger and safer with an Augmented Reality demonstrator featuring:
- Battery enclosure for electric vehicles: thermal management, as well as excellent crash and intrusion resistance
- Crash Management System: superior energy absorption to protect occupants and critical vehicle systems
- Door: Surfalex® with superior hemming and roping properties best suited for the outer surface of doors, hoods, trunks, fenders and roofs
Additional products on display include a side impact beam, decorative trim and emblems.
During the concurrent Automotive Engineering Congress, Kai Schwarz, Lead Engineer for Automotive Structures Electric Vehicles team, will present Constellium’s latest methods for leak and intrusion testing of battery enclosures, as well as advanced solutions for thermal management (June 4 at 5:15 p.m.).
