As a supplier of aluminium material for cosmetic applications, we make sure that our products can be optimally converted into the ultimate packaging. Not only do we offer surfaces with various optical effects and with different qualities, but we also provide a wide range of alloys that are suited for metal transformation, such as deep drawing, chemical/electrolytic brightening or etching, anodizing and where applicable, coloring.
Deep drawing, in particular, requires high demands on the metal during this process which represents a tremendous challenge when processing aluminium into high-grade cosmetics receptacles and metallic bottle tops for perfume.
Constellium has successfully developed a wide portfolio of aesthetic and functional surfaces for the cosmetics industry, and is today the market leader in terms of quality of surface combined with high formability characteristics.
With C-TEC, our R&D center in Voreppe (France), we customize cutting-edge solutions for highly demanding applications.
Sustainability is an integral part of our strategy, and inspires us to work diligently with customers and suppliers to practice life cycle product stewardship. This holistic view of products allows us to assess resource consumption and environmental impacts throughout a product’s entire life cycle, from fabrication, finishing, and end use, to recycling and waste treatment.
Brilliant, Matte, and Mirror Surfaces
Our Bright-Finish 430 is a decorative rolled surface characterized by a brilliant appearance and a visible ground finish. It is particularly suitable for brightened deep-drawn caps, ferrules, screw ferrules, and collars. Our Matte 631 and Matte Fine 615, dedicated to sophisticated application purposes (anodized, deep-drawn parts as well as caps, ferrules, and collars), are manufactured using a ground roll for a uniform, matte surface appearance. For the highest luster requirements, our Mirror-Finish 200 offers optimal reflection properties and an exceptional mirror finish, achieved by brightening and anodizing its smooth, homogeneous surface.
We provide more than just aluminium. Our highly competent and diverse teams combine expertise with flexibility, delivering solutions with unique value to support our customers' business objectives. Our technical services include design and feasibility studies, laboratory services, new product development, life cycle analysis, problem solving, and onsite support.
Our offerings include surfaces with various optical effects and qualities, a range of alloys suited for metal transformation (deep drawing, chemical/electrolytic brightening or etching, anodizing, coloring...), materials in different qualities obtained through a variety of thermal and mechanical processes (EG, ES, ESI, etc.), and made-to-measure solutions beyond our extensive portfolio.
Our approach is to bring together our aluminium expertise and our proximity to our customers in anR&D partnership which generates value creation opportunities. Through this unique approach, we are constantly creating innovative solutions, in alloys or designs, not only to bring new products to the market, but also to help customers improve their process reliability and efficiency.
All our facilities are ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001 certified. Additionally, the Singen facility is ISO 50001 certified. Our casting and rolling operations in Singen have received the ASI's Performance & Chain of Custody Standard in 2019 and started producing ASI-certified products for our customers in 2020.
Our rolled Bright-Finish 430 is a decorative rolled surface which is characterized by a brilliant surface appearance with a ground finish visible in the surface. This surface aspect is particularly suitable for brightened deep-drawn caps, ferrules, screw ferrules, and collars.
Another well-established surface in the market is our Matte 631. Together with our Matte Fine 615, dedicated to sophisticated application purposes, both these decorative rolled surfaces are manufactured using a ground roll which confers a uniform, matte surface appearance thanks to the diffused light reflection. These surfaces are appropriate for anodized, deep-drawn parts as well as caps, ferrules, and collars.
For the highest lustre requirements, our Mirror-Finish 200 offers optimal reflection properties almost independent of light direction. Due to its very smooth, homogeneous surface and excellent surface cleanliness, the exceptional mirror finish is achieved after brightening and anodizing.
Depending on your process, aspect requests and the requirement for deep drawing formability, you can choose among Constellium’s materials in different qualities. These qualities have been obtained through a variety of thermal and mechanical processes on our finishing lines.
