Job Summary: Environmental Health and Safety Managers should possess skills to effectively manage workplace safety, promote a culture of health and safety, and ensure compliance with regulations. These skills include in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment, safety compliance, communication skills, and maintenance of various ISO certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Management Representative and lead activities to achieve and maintain required system certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Constellium’s EHS First initiatives.
  • Drive and lead the EHS CA/PA/Suggestion activities to ensure timely completion of desired outcomes and closure.
  • Manages plant hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control (HIRARC).
  • Provide process control for EHS systems to support the plant during the various program phases, engineering change request, launches, and daily continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead efforts to strive for a zero-accident safety culture by collecting and analyzing trend data to identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Lead the team to achieve and maintain insurance loss prevention HPR (highly protected risk) status.
  • Manage accident/incident reporting processes and assist in investigating accidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Comply with Constellium's EHS reporting guidelines on a monthly, semiannual, and annual basis.
  • Supervise various contracted EHS vending programs and personnel to include PPE vending, SWPPP inspections, SPCC materials, first aid supplies, security team, and other contractors as needed.
  • Manage the EHS portion of new hire onboarding and develop appropriate training.
  • Must work to maintain legal compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure accurate completion of annual reports to regulators: SARA Tier I, II. GLWA Permits, OSHA 300(A), and others as they arise.
  • Develop and manage emergency response procedures and ensure that employees are well-prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • All other duties assigned and necessary to perform the job.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in EHS, Safety Engineering/Technology, Occupational Safety and Health or related field and 5 years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent years of experience, required.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry with an OEM, tier one, tier two, or equivalent company, preferred.
  • Experience in supervision of technical individuals, preferred.
  • Experience with IATF 16949:2016 management system, preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in EHS requirements or willing to learn quickly to proficient levels, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, required.
  • Lead auditor credentials in recognized systems, preferred.
  • Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes relevant to metal fabrication and assembly and knowledge of a variety of common manufacturing processes, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of robotics, automation, safety PLC, and integration, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, required.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
