Logistics Technician

Job Summary: The Logistics Tech administers, facilitates, tracks & coordinates multiple aspects of inbound/outbound freight for the business while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and teammates, high standards of safety, quality, and customer service. This position is responsible for shipping on time in full while ensuring all inbound/outbound freight within scope meet the requirements of both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all freight movements within scope are arranged in the most cost-effective manner possible and that inbound/outbound delivery timelines meet customer requirements
• Tracks and reports freight movement status internally to ensure on-time delivery to customers
• Develops & maintains solid vendor relationships, as it relates to material movement, including metal and non-metal items
• Assists with and participate in process improvements within the logistics department and cross-functional groups
• Service internal customers aligning to hit shipment targets, planning ahead but reacting to last minute changes and priorities
• Acts as primary contact and daily planner for local shuttle transports
• Tracks carrier performance daily in support of carrier monthly carrier scorecarding
• Assists in Customer and Supplier metal return shipments within scope

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required

• Strong computer skills, mainly: Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and manufacturing ERP system required
• Demonstration of analytical, organizational, and communication skills is required
• Experience working in fast past high-pressure environment preferred
• Manufacturing or logistics experience preferred
