at the core of our business
We strive to keep our footprint light, like the material our business is based upon. We celebrate the inherent sustainability of aluminium which not only increases efficiency by reducing weight, but can be recycled without losing its properties. We embrace a circular economy for the health of our planet. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees and communities, and strive to foster an inclusive environment where all our employees are values and empowered.
New Sustainability Targets
Constellium released its new sustainability targets, continuing its journey to promote a circular economy, address climate change, and ensure a safe, diverse and inclusive environment to its employees.

Reducing GHG emissions intensity by 25%
Constelliums 2025 target aims at reducing GHG emissions' intensity by 25% versus our 2015 baseline, on its scope 1 and 2 emissions.
Improving energy efficiency is still at the heart of our efforts to limit our carbon footprint, since most of our GHG emissions are the product of energy use. We are undertaking various initiatives to be more energy efficient.
To go beyond our current 2025 target and achieve climate neutrality by 2050, we will publish new 2030 target this year that addresses indirect impacts on climate change resulting from upstream and downstream activities outside our own.
Reusing aluminium scrap from products such as cans and cars is vastly superior to using primary metal, as recycling uses a fraction of the energy needed for virgin metal. Constellium recycles thousands of tons of aluminium and works to boost global recycling rates.
A value chain approach
Constellium is a founding member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), a global, multi-stakeholder, non-profit standards setting and certification organization. It works towards responsible production, sourcing, and stewardship of aluminium, following an entire value chain approach.
Our casting and rolling operations in Singen, Germany, have received the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance & Chain of Custody Standard certificate in 2019 and started producing ASI certified products for our customers in 2020.
Our Neuf-Brisach facility in France, extrusion lines in Singen and our Automotive Structures operations in Gottmadingen and Dahenfeld have been fully certified with the ASI Performance and Chain of Custody standards. It is an important milestone and recognition of our sustainability efforts.
