our employees
Interview with Stefan Lowin, Head of Central Technical Services, Singen | Constellium
Most of our factories operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ensuring that our equipment and machines are up and running and well-maintained at all times is crucial to our business.
Be part of the team that prevents our machines from breaking down and ensures our uninterrupted operations. Put your mechanical expertise to work on some of the largest aluminium transformation machines in existence. Your contribution will prevent quality issues, keep machines from being out of order for a prolonged period of time, and significantly impact job safety for thousands of Constellium shop floor workers. In a company where environment, health, and safety (EHS) are key, we give enormous value to maintenance.
What do you like most about working for Constellium?
I like the fact that we have flat hierarchies at Constellium. This allows us to implement changes and ideas for improvements very quickly. It’s a sign of our open culture and flexibility.
What inspires you about working in Maintenance?
In maintenance we have new and different tasks to master every day in order to deliver quality products to our customers. Aside from these short-term challenges, we also develop and implement mid- and long-term strategies to make sure we are well prepared for the future. Whether it is reaching our Environment, Health, and Safety targets, or the satisfaction of our internal or external customers, or the smooth running of our machines, my team and I are motivated to give our best every day.
What skills or past experiences do you think helped you become who you are at Constellium?
During my different leadership roles in the aluminium and steel industries, I have learned that it is not only technical know-how and organizational skills that matter. What is much more important, especially in critical situations, is a leadership style that values and respects each and every person.
