Job Summary: The Ingot Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining network-wide visibility, understanding and tactical management of the ingot demand/capacity status within the current operation window as well as the forecast as part of the S&OP process. The Ingot Planner will work with the Metal Procurement team to implement and manage the product specific inventory replenishment targets, as well as managing order bookings so that planned production does not exceed capacity. This position ensures that ingot demand is achieved within capacity constraints. The Ingot Planner will ensure that these activites are managed throughout the eighteen (18) month planning horizon for S&OP, as well as the five (5) year planning cycle.
Responsibilities
- Determine available ingot capacity and production for production at Muscle Shoals
- Manage ingot inventory levels, lead times, and product line capacities.
- Responsible for maintaining the setup and management of Ingot Planning Tool, so that all required products, data, and links are working correctly to ensure accuracy of planning.
- Responsible for the disposition of any aged ingot which is not moving as expected.
- Assure that product line service strategies are consistent with commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with other members of the supply chain, metal procurement, and customers as needed to ensure that the plans are accurate, complete, and ready to be implemented by scheduling.
- Bring Continuous Improvement efforts into ingot planning
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors in a business or technical related field preferred
- Minimum 2-5 yrs. experience in production scheduling and/or customer service role
- Demonstrated knowledge of metal flow, capacities, practices, products, SAP, and equipment limitations
- Demonstrated detail orientation regarding analyses and evaluation of information and data
- Computer and software skills (especially MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Results orientation, accountability, negotiation, and problem solving in a team-based environment
- Strong communication skills and high level of autonomy but also strong on collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Candidates must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with both external and internal customers.
- Must have the ability to accurately present information and to work in a dynamic/fluid business environment
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability for analytical thinking in a time sensitive environment.
