The Financial Analyst I position supports the Finance Analyst II analyzing data, in understanding trends that affect our business, in forecasting costs and in suggesting smart financial decisions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, improve and maintain monthly financial records for internal and external use.
- Update the P&L by Cost Center for controlling / analytical purposes, for actuals, forecasting and budget, including variances
- Update actual, forecast and budget revenues (by components) as well as costs driven by shipments (e.g. freight, OSP, warehousing, chemicals…) and maintains / produces the variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Controls selling prices and costs rates on a monthly basis to ensure forecast accuracy and correct recognition of revenues (collaboration with accounting team)
- Assists with the identification of variables to be included in the construction of financial models as directed.
- Constructs a financial representation of particular aspects of the plant by performing calculations which allow recommendations to be made based upon those calculations.
- Assists with summarizing particular events or performance factors for the Finance Director to provide direction regarding possible actions or alternatives.
- Prepares moderate to complex management and financial reporting/metrics and related analytics.
- Develops and prepares dashboard for monthly performance analysis, budget and long-term plans
- Participates in the monthly reviews and annual audit
- Identifies and drives process improvement initiatives to resolution
- Supports daily Accounting team in recording suppliers’ invoices in the systems as well as preparation of the cash forecasting (AP).
- Maintains the monthly bank balances and reconciles accordingly.
- Updates and reports the weekly/bi-weekly/monthly cash forecast, including explanations of variances.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 0-2 Years of experience in Accounting or Finance required, within an automotive/manufacturing setting preferred
- History of demonstrated confidentiality.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel related towards Accounting, Finance and Financial modeling applications.
- Experience in financial modeling including various modeling options, their scopes, benefits and limitations.
- Knowledge of Cash Flow Statement and Cash Reconciliations
- Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp and apply analytical concepts.
- Team player, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Other Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a constrained environment (deadlines, costs, able to work under pressure) and ability to drive multiple projects in parallel, which interfere with each other
- Ability to listen and sense of service (customer, team, etc.)
- Ability to fix the direction and to drive the execution after alternatives analysis with team, demonstrates accountability
- Analytical and ability to synthesize with other departments when necessary
- Ability to be flexible and to adjust priorities as necessary to meet changing conditions
