Job Summary 

The CapEx Buyer will manage the procurement activities on both growth and sustaining capex for Constellium Automotive USA, LLC. The CapEx Buyer will have to work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver optimal costs, timing and supplier solutions, build credibility and intimacy with key stakeholders and influence decision makers to commit to a Total Value of Ownership (TVO) approach to obtain the optimum value for the company from the selected supplier solutions.

 

Primary Purpose

  • Manage Constellium Automotive USA, LLC purchasing of major project and equipment related to ongoing and upcoming investments
  • Responsible for strategic sourcing for the key equipment and services to ensure Constellium competitive advantage
  • Ensure strong cost control and governance with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure leveraging maximization, best practices sharing and promote procurement influence and control process in front of Key internal stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of the annual productivity plan (Budget compliance and Savings) and internal customer satisfaction objectives will be achieved by close monitoring of project execution across the main sites
  • Responsible for implementation of the purchasing-related activities as part of the project team during the Preparation Phase, and then during the Execution and Start-up/Closure phases.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and driving supplier performance improvements through collaboration with Engineering Team
  • Manage key suppliers to strengthen relationship while ensuring continuity of supply and reducing business risks
  • Evaluate supplier reliability, leads supplier sourcing activities, and develops new supply sources
  • Develop cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing
  • Interact closely with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve complex issues

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the request for information (RFI), request for quote (RFQ), request for proposal (RFP), and contract management activities for the CapEx commodity, ensuring to drive along the project team, to deliver optimal supplier solutions and TCO.
  • Receive and analyze Supplier’s offers and negotiate. Raises Contracts in close cooperation with legal department to protect company assets.
  • Manages Contract deliverables with close cooperation with technical department
  • Manages Contractual change control relating to cost and time. Issues and challenges Contract change notices from design related issues. Validates cost and scope impacts of both contract and change orders.
  • Work with Engineering & Product Development teams to develop the technical requirements, SOW, design and execution phase of capital projects to streamline to suppliers. Ensure scope of work is maximized to help limit change orders to a minimum. 
  • Search the market for potential suppliers and support the main sites on identification of suitable bidder list to match leveraging opportunities and best available market options in order to develop a supply base with the optimum service level at the lowest possible TCO.
  • Comply with the company standard procedures and Corporate Capex Procurement standardized processes in term of RFQ, projects comparison, Gate Reviews.
  • Lead the development of supplier partnering arrangements to include performance management initiatives, focusing on recurring capital expenditure .
  • Liaise with Purchasing and Program Management Team to inform the status of projects (contractual/commercial negotiation). Place purchase orders in Plex (ERP system), and ensure proper storage of contractual documents.
  • Develop and implement Commodity strategy and Supplier Panel for CapEx commodity

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or other directly related field
  • 5 Years’ Experience with CapEx & Tooling or Similar Experience
  • Experience with Strategic Purchasing, Quotations, Tenders, Contract Design, Negotiation, CAPEX and Cash Flow analysis. Able to perform, understand and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation.
  • Effective communication, high level of autonomy, collaboration and able to build strong, credible relationships with strategic partners and suppliers
  • Result orientation, accountability, negotiation, problem solving, project and change management, and team working/building
  • Plex (ERP) system or Similar experience preferred
