Job Summary: The mission of the Additive Manufacturing Development Engineer is to drive the Business Development and industrialization of our high-performance products in North America.


Responsibilities

  • Understand additive manufacturing aluminum powder alloy market needs for North America, particularly in aviation, space, defense and automotive domains
  • Identify opportunities and establish partnerships with customers technical/engineering teams, universities, R&D centers and government institutes to introduce and qualify our products
  • Contribute to industrialize our solutions at customers: collaborate and support customers in using our products (technical assistance, quality requirements)
  • Support customers in designing solutions with our products
  • Identify unmet customer needs, monitor our competitors and competing products, and contribute to defining our roadmap for new product development
  • Work with our powder supplier in North America and Europe to implement and secure our product supply chain for North America and if possible the rest of the world
  • Contribute to building our “Additive Manufacturing Service Center” (i.e. powder warehouse, testing / characterization lab)
  • Work with our European team on synergies, particularly concerning large North American customers with additive manufacturing activities in Europe
  • Represent Constellium at global additive manufacturing conferences through technical presentations and/or exhibition. More generally speaking, propose communications on our products, applications, developments in specialized newspapers, social networks etc. 

 

Qualifications

  • Masters-level degree required (Engineering, Technology, Materials, Metallurgy, etc.)
  • Business degree or PhD would be a plus
  • Established experience in the area of Additive Manufacturing
  • 3 years of experience in related technical domain, ideally Additive Manufacturing and/or aluminum metallurgy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Automotive, Aerospace, or Defense customers is key
  • Experience in negotiating with large customers (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE, GM, Ford, Stellantis, SpaceX)
