Quality Engineer

Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to ensure products and services are of the highest quality through testing and statistical analysis. This position is responsible for helping in the process of creating new and improved products/services by checking for efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Support all activities to achieve and maintain management system and standards (i.e. IATF 16949, ISO 14001, etc.).
• Support APQP and product/process change initiatives.
• Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Reduce internal and external quality incidents through process development, improvement, and other activities to improve capability of production lines.
• Track trends and performance in real time to avert part issues prior to occurrence
• Serve as company representative with customer. Helps resolve customer issues and participates in the problem-solving exercise through root cause analysis and improvement plan following the 8D methodology.
• Develops SOPs within the scope of work, compiles and uploads supplemental documents for traceability and record retention
• Ensure Quality Techs work according to defined standards and processes
• Review quality production data for compliance to production quality
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Conducts training to Quality or Process Engineering personnel in creating PFMEA, control plan and check sheets in Plex.

Qualifications

• Experience working for an automotive supplier as a Quality Engineer in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with peers, all levels of management and external customers preferred.
• Working knowledge with customer portals including Ford and Stellantis preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (strong relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree with High School Diploma or GED) required.
• Ability to read and interpret product drawings, develop PFMEAs and control plans.
• Experience with problem solving tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
• Experience working with Plex preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. required.
