Context
To provide leadership and management for all activities in the Coil Processing Group manufacturing unit. Provide support to Constellium’s overall business goals and objectives.
Primary Purpose
- Provide the necessary leadership to manage all aspects of efficient Coil processing operations
- Position is responsible for co-ordinating safety, quality, productivity, maintenance and continuous improvement for four related processes (Cold Rolling, Annealing, Finishing, and I&L)
- Provide support to organization of 25 salary employees and approximately 160 hourly employees
- Manager must have at least 10 years of operating experience inside an aluminium rolling mill to fully understand the relationships between the different departments and the process flow necessary for optimum throughput
- Must have a working knowledge of customer requirements. Preferred to have experience in transportation markets such as dump trucks, rail cars, tanker trucks, dry van & refrig trailers, pleasure boat, crew boat, etc.
- Manager should have continuous improvement and lean manufacturing expertise in order to provide the leadership necessary to identify and resolve problems
- Must be willing and able to act independently and lead the effort to determine root cause and implement corrective actions, as required
- Manager must develop and execute an annual operating budget of $45 million
- Must identify key process indicators required for executing Constellium’s annual objectives and provide the leadership to see that the necessary action plans required to achieve the targets are developed and put into motion

Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the production, maintenance, planning, technical, quality and safety of the Production Unit
- Achieve annual operating results for all key process indicators
- Improve on existing processes so that the Plant becomes more profitable, customer deliveries are on time and cost reduction is achieved from year to year
Provide leadership to achieve continuous improvement initiatives throughout the Production Unit
Responsible for conformance to company policies, procedures and regulations
- Ensure that all employees abide by the rules governing the safe and efficient operation of the Facility
Responsible for ensuring that EHS policies and procedures are established, documented, implemented and enforced
- Achieve significant improvements in environmental, health and safety overall performance
Responsible for personnel – hourly and salary
- Establish proper crewing requirements, proper training of employees, and champion strong safety and labor environment
Establish annual budgets, approve major expenditures, develop major maintenance & capital budgets and assist in defining long range planning requirements and initiatives
- Achieve cost reduction goals and achieve annual budgeted cost goals as well as providing assistance in developing accurate long range plans
Leadership Competencies / Technical Skills Requirement
- Strongly preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience
- Extensive, aluminum industry experience could be considered in lieu of a degree
- Requires strong leadership skills
- Ability to manage and develop in a team environment
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the Organization and organizations outside of Constellium
- Requires strong employee development skills
- Knowledgeable of production and maintenance functions in rolling and finishing operations
- Strong leadership skills and commitment to Environment, Health and Safety
- Strong management skills in a Union labor atmosphere
- Requires commitment to established Standard Operating Procedures, problem solving, and best quality practices
Complexity
Requires the ability to identify and resolve both short and long-term problems.
Must be able to act independent of superiors and direct reports. Jobholder needs an entrepreneurial spirit to be effective.
Position has the freedom to implement 80% of actions and will seek upper management approval on the remaining 20%.
