Constellium Announces Appointment of Pierre Vareille as Chairman and CEO
The Board of Directors of Constellium will appoint Pierre Vareille to the position of Chairman and CEO of Constellium, effective March 1, 2012. Upon Mr. Vareille’s appointment, Richard (Dick) Evans, acting Interim Chairman and CEO of Constellium, will remain on the Constellium Board and assume the position of Lead Independent Director. In this capacity, Mr. Evans will actively support Pierre Vareille in his continued execution of the company’s business plan.
Mr. Vareille is a highly qualified CEO with extensive experience in the metals and manufacturing sectors and a successful track record of managing global industrial companies. Since 2008, Mr. Vareille has been Chairman and CEO of FCI, a leading manufacturer of connectors with 14,000 employees in 30 countries. Prior to this, his experience included CEO of Wagon Automotive - a company listed on the London Stock Exchange - and GFI Aerospace, as well as senior management roles at Faurecia and Vallourec. He has previous experience at Constellium from his time at Pechiney where from 2002 to 2004 he was a member of the Executive Committee, Director of the Aluminium Conversion sector and managed many of the businesses that comprise Constellium today. Mr. Vareille graduated from the Ecole Centrale de Paris, a French engineering school and holds various degrees in Politic Science (IEP Paris), Economics and Finance (Sorbonne University).
Commenting on Mr. Vareille’s appointment, the Constellium Board of Directors noted, “We are delighted that Pierre Vareille has agreed to become the Chairman and CEO of Constellium.
